Meet Our Staff

Dr. Scot Plummer BVSc (Hons) graduated in November 1994 and has owned the Southeastern Animal Hospital since July 1997. He has three dogs (two Blue Heelers Blue and Mack, and a Pomeranian Mr Groovy), three cats (two omestics Cazbar and Ginger Kitten, and one Tonkinese Jasmine) and two human terrors a daughter, Stephanie, born April 2002, and a son Jacob, born May 2000.

Dr. Georgina Lawlor BVSc (Hons) graduated in Nov 1997 and has been with the Southeastern Animal Hospital since Feb 2004. She has worked in a range of practices both overseas and in Australia, so comes to us with a broad wealth of experience. Georgie now works as a part time Veterinarian since having her children Sienna and Zara. Between working, her children, her dog (a Weinmaraner Lizzy) , and cats (Moxley and Sooty), she is one busy MaMa!

Mrs Maria Plummer is our Practice Manager, also our part-time nurse. Her main responsibility is keeping the hospital running smoothly and shipshape, paying accounts, collecting payments and paying our wages. She is also the other half of the party responsible for the two human terrors Jacob and Stephanie.

Miss Sarah Drake VN is our Senior Veterinary Nurse and has been with us since Aug 2001. She has an ever growing menagerie at home: her dog (a Staffy Jet) who is her best friend and a variety of birds from Quails and Budgies to the more exotic breeds. Sarah can often be spotted in and around Clayton and surrounding suburbs indulging her passion of bike riding.

Dr Amanda Ling graduated from Melbourne University in December 2008. She joined our team in April 2009, and is one of our almost full-time staff members. Amanda's main interests in Veterinary Science are Internal Medicine, Animal Behavior and also dealing with the Exotics. Her best friend is her dog (a Greyhound X Mastiff, Cease).

Bree Folds began her nursing career in January 2006. She joined our team on December 2007 and is a qualified Veterinary Nurse. Her main love in nursing is all aspects of surgey. Bree is currently engaged and hopes to 'tie the knot' sometime in 2011. Part of Bree's family are her two rabbits (a Mini Mop Wilson, and a Dwarf Gaza) and three cats (Neo, Zoe and Norman).

Simon joined the team in 2008 after completing his VCE. He is one of our part time nurses. Simon is also studying to become a qualified Veterinary Nurse at Box Hill TAFE. He hopes to complete his studies by the end of 2010. Simon has two dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Harry and Tikki) and a cat (Patch).

Alayne Hansen joined the team in late 2009 as the groomer. She is the third generation within her family who show dogs, so has over 40 years of experience in grooming and showing. Alayne has shown Kerry Blue Terriers, American cocker Spaniels and Poodles. Over the years she has been very successful within the show ring and has won Top Dog for Australia for all three breeds above, Best of Show twice at the Royal Melbourne (the biggest show within the Southern Hemisphere), Best of Show in Hobart twice, Best of Show in Perth and Spring Fair (the biggest one-day show in Australia). Alayne has also been successful within her grooming. She has previously owned her own grooming business in Sydney before moving to Melbourne. We were lucky to have her join our team at the South Eastern Animal Hospital.

Also as part of our team, we have three part time members and they are Madeleine (Maddy), Jacinta and Andrew.
