5 ways pets make us happier
Do you think owning a pet makes you a happier person? Or maybe it’s not something you’ve ever given much thought to. Pets give and teach us a lot, and can bring great happiness into our lives – sometimes without us even realising it.
Here is how
They make us more caring
Owning a pet requires care. We need to feed, give attention, clean, exercise and complete many other tasks. All of these activities require us to give without the expectation of receiving anything in return.
They share their positive energy
Animals have a special sort of energy. They can brighten a room, shift a mood, comfort us and make us laugh. They don’t need instruction to do this. It’s their natural state of being. As pet owners, we are fortunate that we can be on the receiving end of their positive energy.
They love us unconditionally
Pets will never judge us or criticize us. They will stick with us no matter what. It’s a love that can be hard to find!
They remind us to be active
Many pets enjoy play and exercise. They remind us to be silly, have fun and get outside.
The remind us to simply be
Have you ever watched your pet just sit? Cats and dogs are great at doing this. They can sit still and simply be. Life is becoming increasingly busier, filled with so many distractions. However, our pets are masters of being in the present moment and taking time out.
Pets can make us happy in many ways. The next time you feel a little glum, spend some time with your furry, feathery or scaly friend and allow them to share their joy with you.
