How to Get more Instagram Followers for Your Pet

Instagram continues to grow and is a particularly popular place for pet owners. You can scroll through thousands of pet accounts! Do you have an account for your pet but it’s just not getting any traction? Here’s how you can give it a boost.

Visual style

Instagram is a visual platform. Users share images. However, it’s not that simple. The best accounts have their own style. This could be the way the photographs are taken, the filters that are used or even the composition of the photos. Give your account its own visual style so when your images come up in people’s feeds, they know it’s your (or you pet’s) account. Have a look around at other accounts for inspiration. For example, check out @chinnybudd. All the images have a similar vibe and colour scheme. This adds to the overall visual style.

Hashtags

When it comes to Instagram, hashtags are a must. Use them often and get creative! You can have a bit of fun and use tags that add something to the image. For example, a photo of a sleeping cat, you could have #DreamingofMice or #Catnap. Look around for popular hashtags and use those as well if they are relevant. Hashtags are way of bringing more people to your account.

Interact with popular pet accounts

Like all social media accounts, Instagram is social. You need to interact with others! Follow other pet accounts and some might even follow you back. Comment and take part in conversations. This will help build your profile and get your account out there.

A great Instagram account tells a story. Remember users will follow your account because there is something about your pet they like. Keep showing your pet’s personality and their life. If your photos aren't getting many likes, try something different. Think about your pet and what you find most interesting about them, there's a good chance others out there will find it interesting too.
