BIGGEST DOG LOVERS SHOW ON PLANET

BIGGEST DOG LOVERS SHOW ON PLANET
For the love of dogs, the award winning* Melbourne Dog Lovers Show returns for the third time at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May, with more canines under one wroof than ever before!

Over three massive days, an anticipated 25,000+ passionate dog lovers will get the chance to cuddle, learn and connect with our best friend at this family friendly event, which celebrates the unconditional love we share with our pooch pals.

From canines that have gone above and beyond to keep our country safe to dozens of dogs available for adoption from rescue groups across Victoria, these are just some of the highlights dog loving visitors would be barking mad to miss:

For the first time in Melbourne, visitors to the show will have the opportunity to pat a plethora of puppies in the Pat-A-Pooch nursery zone. Dog owners and qualified handlers will be available at all times to provide reliable information on what it’s like to live with each pooch, whilst visitors have some quality canine cuddle time.

In a moving tribute to the 100th anniversary of World War
I, the event will also unveil a special tribute dedicated to military working dogs that have provided active service in wars for many decades. Visitors will also get a chance to see a range service dogs showcase their talents in the Rose-Hip Vital Arena including Australian Customs & Border Protection Detector Dogs, Search & Rescue Dogs and Victoria Police Squad Dogs.

The CANIDAE Rescue Dog Zone provides a chance to meet dogs from a wide array of shelters and rescue groups from around Victoria who are desperate to find permanent, loving homes. For people looking to adopt a dog in need, experts will be available to discuss rescue and what’s really involved, the suitability of dogs available, whether it suits your lifestyle plus how you can actually start the process.

From dashing Dalmatians to fabulous French Bulldogs, the Royal Canin Breed Showcase will give visitors the opportunity to compare and cuddle over 30 lovable breeds. Reputable breed clubs will also be on hand to ensure visitors considering a new canine addition are equipped with all the right information to make informed decisions.

Picking the perfect pooch can be a tricky task, so the Perfect Match feature at the Dog Lovers Show has been designed to help visitors find the most suitable dog breeds for their lifestyle and home. Whether you’re a young professional living in an apartment or part of an active, growing family with a big backyard, the Perfect Match and large breed information posters on display will help you find your ‘best-fit’ breeds with a detailed survey and experts on hand to provide recommendations.

The Rose-Hip Vital Arena will be bursting with high energy and endless action as some of Australia’s most talented canines, including Dr Katrina Warren’s Wonderdogs, headline the live doggy demonstrations of intelligence, speed and agility with Agility, Flygility, Flyball, Frisbee shows and more.

The KONG Celebrity Vet Stage will provide expert seminars for a healthier, happier dog from some of Australia’s most popular vets. Topics cover training and behaviour tips, first-aid and nutrition advice with everything you need to know about living with a new puppy! Speakers include Dr Jack Ayerbe, Dr Bruce Syme, Peter Hitchener, Laura Vissaritis, Farmer Dave, Lort Smith Vets and Dr Katrina Warren.

With 250+ exhibitors it’s also the largest showcase of dog products and services in Australia, with many fantastic new products and services being launching at the show. It’s like a giant supermarket for dogs and a great opportunity to spoil your fur-kids. There’s also free vet advice, free face-painting and even a doggy bookshop!

The Melbourne Dog Lovers Show is the ultimate event for dog lovers of all ages to celebrate the companionship, unconditional affection and joy that our furry friends bring to our lives every day.

A limited number of discount tickets (25% saving) are available for advanced bookings and for people wanting to avoid the large queues experienced at last year’s show. For more information visit: www.dogloversshow.com.au/melbourne
