The purpose of Wellness Centre for Dogs & Their Humans is to offer physical therapy treatment, dog training/behaviour consultations and to educate and support their human companions.
In the human spirit, as in the universe, nothing is higher or lower: everything has equal rights to a common center which manifests its hidden existence precisely through this harmonic relationship between every part and itself. – Goethe

What We Offer
Bowen Therapy is extremely helpful for dogs requiring treatment for soft tissue injury, lameness and post-surgical recovery. It has also proven to assist with hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament injuries, spinal injuries, general anxiety and skin allergies, in addition to supporting dogs on a behaviour modification program.
Physical Rehabilitation Programs
Julie employs positive reinforcement methods to train dogs in relation to how to carry out specific exercises for stretching, strengthening, coordination and balance. She is able to design specific physical rehabilitation programs, in conjunction with the treatment of Bowen Therapy, in addition to behaviour modification programs.
One-on-one dog training consultations are also available. Here, Julie uses positive reward-based training and behaviour techniques to help modify canine behaviour, with the aim of providing education and support for owners.
All appointments are conducted as in-home visits.
Refuge Therapy Dogs
Julie has been a volunteer at the Dogs’ Refuge Home in Shenton Park for over five years.
At the refuge, she heads a therapy program for dogs needing treatment prior to adoption. Within the program, the refuge’s homeless hounds are treated for injuries, anxiety, medical conditions, pain management, strength coordination and behaviour modification.
In addition, Julie designs their rehabilitation exercise programs and trains them in specific programs. She also helps staff and volunteers, training them in massage therapy and supporting their involvement in the dog rehabilitation exercise programs.
